Nitrox Certification - eLearning

You can take the Nitrox Course completely online with the eLearning program, and all you have to do is schedule ANY dive (non-pool) with us, whether it be a course or dive trip.  You may also take this is part of your open water course, with your final open water dives doubling as your Nitrox dives!

Nitrox IMPROVES:  

• Bottom Time
• Safety Margins
• How you feel after the dive (less tired!)

Nitrox REDUCES:

• Wait Time between dives (Surface Interval Time)
• Fatigue
• Risk of Decompression Sickness

Nitrox boosts the oxygen in the air you breathe, thus reducing the nitrogen

your body takes in while diving.  It’s better for you up until a point (depth), at which point it can cause CNS Oxygen toxicity. This is easily avoidable, but underscores the reason this course is important. 

You can complete this course online once an activation code is sent to you.

 You will receive your new Nitrox Certification Card with your photo upon successful completion and standard mail delivery. Once complete and verified by your instructor (may take up to one business day), you can immediately have access to your certification online. And just like Open Water Scuba Certification, it’s good for life!

Common Questions:

• The Nitrox card can replace your Scuba card, meaning you will no longer need to carry both cards.
• YES, any other scuba certification card is accepted as a prerequisite to take the course. Your new photo ID card will be issued by NAUI, but it doesn’t matter what agency you were originally certified with, nor which agency or group you typically dive with or shop you frequent.
• You can take the course before OR after the Nitrox dives, so long as one of Sweetwater's NAUI Instructors are with you.
• Nitrox is optimally used for diving between 40’ to 130’ of depth.
